Ponticello sets on a private
mesa at an average of 3000 feet above sea level. This altitude provides
Ponticello residents a much cooler climate than the valley in the summer and a
warmer winter with cooler air sinking into the canyons. Gentle breezes are
common when the desert below is still.
Without its massive three
hundred foot long bridge to access the land, it would be a desert island truly
onto itself. This mesa allows for the creation of unique view spaces
from every lot. The nature of the land, with its five “fingers” and palm,
made for interesting planning. Five unique streets lead down the
ridges
Della Roccia, of the rock; Del
Sole’, of the sun; Della Luna, of the moon; Della Terra, of the earth; and
Ponticello Boulevard winding through the end of the community.
These ridges allow for a home
on either side of the ridge crest, dissected by the unique, private “finger”
roads. Incredible city light views beckon from the spectacular homesites
sitting at the end of the five ridges. Each backyard view from the side
ridge lots becomes a scenic wonder into one of seven canyons at the bottom of
each of the ridges. Every lot has a unique perspective on the much
photographed Catalina and Pusch Ridge mountains that rise to over 6000
feet.
The palm
area, with the roadways of Della Cresta and Ponticello Court, were purposefully
not connected, and left as two separate roads for the privacy of the most
premiere properties.
